Use Flock.

I could really keep the blog post that simple. For a browser as gorgeous, useful, and just plain cool as Flock, that’s all the introduction needed.

Flock has been called the browser for Web 2.0, and I must say I agree. Flock has a toolbar that is used just for social networking/blogging. You can write a blog post straight from the browser (that’s what I’m doing now!), upload pictures to Picasa, Photobucket, or Piczo. You can also stick your YouTube friends into the sidebar, check to see if they have new videos, and add them to the Media Minibar (I’ll get to that later)

Another feature that, personally, don’t use, is the social networking features. Say Bill uses MySpace, John uses Facebook, and Ross uses Xanga. With Flock, you can just put their profiles in your sidebar, and get instant access to the files.  Flickr is also supported.

The Media Minibar is pretty cool. If you like someone’s YouTube, or Flickr, etc; pictures/videos, you can add them to your minibar, a little bar displaying pictures or videos at the top, and you’ll get a new image/video when they are posted. Nice, huh?

Lastly, this is all based on FireFox, so (at least according to the website), you can use most of your favorite FF add ons.’

There are Mac, Windows, and Linux versions, so there are no excuses not to download it.

Just remember, I didn’t even scratch the surface of all the Flock features, so go right to www.flock.com to check the rest out.

Hey guys! I figured I start updating this blog again, now that I use Flock. I think a nice application that most people would appreciate is a great little text editor called Journler.

It works really well for research projects, if you ask me. You can type in information, but you can add audio and video to it. This really helps if you’re doing a project, on say, JFK. You can put a biography in text, an inaugural address in audio, and news reports concerning him as video. Then you can add tags, just like a blog. Tag it as JFK, social studies. Then you can click of your JFK tag, and find whatever you’ve done about JFK.

Hey guys, I just checked out the demo for Blizzard’s Warcraft III.

It’s pretty awesome.

It is a fantasy RTS, but has some pretty heavy RPG elements in it. Spells are fun, units are balanced, it’s a great game.

I’d buy it, but I have no money right now

Hey guys, I found a pretty neat Tetris widget, right here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/games/tetris.html
It avoids all of the annoying noises, and includes a save feature, unlike many other widget games. The controls are pretty tight, but I found that pressing enter was a really annoying way to put the block all the way down. And even after you press enter, it still takes a good amount of time for it to actually touch the ground.

Regardless, it’s still a pretty cool way to pass time (because if you’re at a computer, there is nothing else to do.)
